The Prodigal Son
“And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine”.
~Luke 15
It was May 2006, the time of my latest meeting with Kevin in Portland, Oregon. It had been more than twenty-five years since our first channeling took place, but I had never lost my sense of anticipation and excitement for each upcoming session.
In this session I was eager to communicate with one of my spirit guides, named Atun-Re, along with Deva and the Friend—two major sources of inspiration throughout these channelings. I wanted to better understand the spiritual processes that were taking place within me, as well as the possibility of physical regeneration.
Finally, Kevin turned on a tape recorder and closed his eyes. His body became still and his breathing deepened. In a few moments a deep voice, totally unlike Kevin’s, began speaking through. Sitting there listening, I immediately recognized that it was Atun-Re. As soon as the session began I was transported into a realm where time and space had very little meaning.

Ron: In my own past I had aspired to become more than human, and had pursued the goal of enlightenment and liberation. Now, simply being human seems to be divine as well.
Atun-Re: Well, there you are correct. Although you struggle to become an angel, when you actually make it up there and get your wings, all you find is that most angels are trying to scramble to re-enter the birth cycle and become human again. Most angels actually consider it to be a bit boring. They like the variety of being human. That is why it is said that those who know Christ are above the angels. So ultimately it is like a spiritual prodigal son. You know the story:
The prodigal son leaves home, then squanders his wealth and falls on hard times. But that doesn’t mean that the father doesn’t send out the servant to find his son and bring him home. Then the inheritance is restored, because the father’s wealth is infinite. But the other inheriting son is jealous, saying, “But father, I have never gone astray.” And the father says, “I honor you for that, but we should also celebrate your sibling’s return. So I choose to celebrate both of you continuously, because even in your brother’s absence I never ceased celebrating him, nor did I ever stop celebrating you.”
In a way, angels are like the brother that never went astray, and yet they can still feel some jealousy towards the prodigal son.
Ron: A prodigal son such as myself?
Atun-Re: Yes. Because as the prodigal son, rather than struggling to be divine in another way, it is far better that you become divine in the way in which you already are...
